Yes, you have to enter your Gig income on your income tax return(s). This type of income is considered self-employment income by the IRS (or a business).
To enter your self-employment income not reported on a 1099-K, 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC:
If you made $600 or more, contact the company or individual you worked for to request a 1099-NEC.

Thank you for the information. I called the HelpLine and they walked me through the process. 🙂
I made over $600 across several survey sites but not individually. I didn't get any 1099 from any of them. I do consider this self employed other income but TurboTax keeps asking for a Payers EIN. I also deduct home office and internet.
I wold report the money you made from completing surveys as "Other Income". To do so in TurboTax Online, while working in your return:
Your "other income" will appear on Form 1040 Schedule 1, Line 8z and will flow to Form 1040 Line 8.
* If you don't see "Tax Tools" on your screen, click on any of the entry sections (e.g. Income, W-2) and then click on "start" or the pencil icon"
I did all that but it's asking for a Payers EIN on at the end when checking for errors and NEEDS REVIEW. I do not have a Payers EIN and 00-0000 won't do.
You are in the 1099-MISC Other Income section. You need to exit that and follow the steps for "Other Reportable Income". Be sure to answer no, if you are asked if you received a Form 1099-MICS.
It is entered as Other income. TurboTax automatically put it as 1099misc. I didn't go into 1099misc.
Double check the 1099-MISC by trying to delete it even though you didn't enter one.
Next, in this situation, first please try clearing the cookies and cache. It handles many issues that seem nonsensical on a regular basis with online activity.
Watch to be sure you are selecting 'all time' as example. Do not use selections like 'last hour' for those browsers that give you options.
Once this is complete open your return and try again.

I never thought to clean cookies cache. I hope I don't have to reenter everything. Thank you.
