Do I qualify under the transportation industry as a restaurant delivery driver? Full time, 40 - 50 hours a week. I use my personal vehicle and average 200 miles a day.

I do not receive reimbursement from my employer. Gasoline costs, wear and tear of vehicle come out of my pocket.

Do you get a W2 or 1099Misc for your pay?

If you are an employee of the company receiving a W-2 for your income, there is no longer a federal tax deduction for employee business expenses, including vehicle expenses, due to the tax code changes for tax years 2018 thru 2025.

Yes, I receive a W-2. Thanks for the information. I easily spend $300 a month just in gasoline, so it's a pretty big let down that I can't get any of that back. Wish some customers would take that into consideration.

Could you share a link to the tax code changes? I'd like to take a look at it.

Thanks again.
