Do I have to send an amended form

Do I need to send an amended form for the tax year 2021.  I accidentally said we didn't get the economic impact payment and we did.  Or do they find that mistake and take care of it?  I have sent my taxes and they were excepted.

The IRS will most likely correct that for you. 

You cannot fie an amended return until AFTER the original is processed.

If they do correct it do I have to amend it? I've never messed up before like this. It's very confusing.

No, the IRS will correct it and send you a letter. 

The letter will say what they adjusted and allow you to either accept the change or dispute it. 

You don't need to amend. 

next year you will use the AGI from the ORIGNAL return to e-file.
