I think you mean you received money that was garnished from someone's pay, for instance back child-support from the other parent of your child. That wouldn't be taxable and you wouldn't need to report it on your tax return.
No it was for garnished wages for tenant moving and leaving house in a mess
Ok, so that is associated with the rental of the house, so you would report it on your tax return as rental income in the year you received it.
