I have used TurboTax (TT) Canada for the last 10 years with no issues adding the disability tax credit (DTC) for my husband with his income only. For 2020, TT calculated the DTC as always and my husband was going to get a credit which was great. CRA assessed that the income as was submitted incorrectly as it should be family not individual so my husband had to pay taxes. I consulted with TT and they took the info, forms and other documents to end up with the system is not incorrect and CRA is correct. They stated that the insurance would not have resulted in any fix either. I don't want to have the same situation happen again if 2021 TT Canada calculates the DTA as single/individual income instead of family. Any suggestions?
