Did something wrong: Local tax withholding greater than Local Wages.

I completed all the screens, reached the last screen- which said I had to 2 corrections that I had to make. One was about updating county of residence and another one was about including Local Income. I entered local income from box 18 on my W-2. I got the following message which puzzled me.

"Returns with Local Tax Withholding greater than Local Wages shown on W-2 are not eligible for electronic filing."

Where do I see my local tax withholding in TurboTax? It's not on W-2 so not sure where TurboTax is picking up this information. I may have done something wrong- trying to figure out how do I fix it?

You state that you entered the local tax from box 18 of your w2 in the error review. You also state that you did not enter it on the w2.

Please return to the federal section and edit your w2 to include the local information. Your income must be greater than the tax paid. 

If you had no local income tax, look for an entry on your w2 since you added something in the review error. If there is nothing on the w2 entry, delete the worksheet. You may need to delete the w2 and enter it again.

•  Desktop: If you are working in the cd/download TurboTax program:
  1. On the top right, there is a FORMS button. 
  2. Click on FORMS.
  3. Locate the form you want to delete.
  4. Click on the form name.
  5. Below the form, bottom left, select DELETE FORM button.
