Good morning,
I am stuck in an endless loop of an error that I cannot clear. The only option appears to be to file by mail, but I don't understand WHY the error is happening in the first place:
I've reviewed the entire tax file three times, double checked all the numbers from our W2's and other documents, and it's still flagging for an error:

I don't think this is a TAX error, I think this is TURBOTAX problem... Please help!

Since the value is exactly 3945, which is definitely less than or equal to 3945, my hunch is that the issue is in rounding. Revisit your entries for DE taxes paid/withheld on W-2 and other sources as you did before, and try re-typing the numbers as their rounded whole number value, without any decimal values on the end (assuming that these have both dollars and cents i.e. $00.00, re-enter as just $00)
Changing this input from the W-2 will not cause problems for reporting. The IRS does not accept decimal values anyway, and will expect the final totals on your tax return to be rounded by the tax software regardless.
Thank you for the suggestion, I tried that, but TurboTax automatically changed the entry to 2 decimal points AND I still got the same error message at the end:
Follow these steps since a full or corrupted cache can cause problems in TurboTax, You need to clear your cache (that is, remove these temporary files).

I'm having the same issue with a Delaware return. I have cleared the cache and entered rounded values for the state taxes. I don't have access to another computer at this time. Is there anything else to try?
I would delete the form, close out of the return. Clear cache. Log back in and enter it in manually with rounded numbers - which you may have done in that order. If not, that is the order. Plus, when you log out, I would let it sit for a little while - really.
Look through all your forms for state and local taxes paid, make them all round.
If it refuses to recognize the round numbers after that, contact support. I have looked through all the investigations and there is nothing related to your situation. Maybe letting another person look at your screen, they will notice something that you aren't, a rounded number on some form that didn't strike you.
Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately, that didn't fix the error, and the support team couldn't resolve it either. However, it appears that I can still file.
I ended up filing mine by mail 😠
Very frustrating! I initially couldn't e-file either. I kept deleting and re-adding the DE return, and it eventually worked. Filing by mail would have been much faster and easier.
