Cannot proceed past the Capital Loss Carryover Summary.

After TurboTax shows me my, "Capital Loss Carryover Summary," it will not let me proceed, further.  Instead, when I hit "continue," it keeps sending me back to, "did you receive a form 2439 for 2021?"  I have no Form 2439 to file and, of course I always click "No."  Still, the program will not let me continue past the Carryover Summary without sending me back to the Form 2439 question.

Cannot proceed past the Capital Loss Carryover Summary.

Please clarify:

  • What version of TurboTax are you using?
  • Is it
    • Online
    • Desktop
  • Form 2439 is an IRS form that Regulated Investment Companies (RICs)–mutual funds and exchange-traded funds–and Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) are required to distribute to shareholders in order to report undistributed long-term capital gains.

This should not be an issue with a carryover.

I'm not sure how you got into the section you did!  Delete the information you entered by using the Trash can icon.

For the Online version

  1. Search using the Magnifying glass
  2. Capital Loss Carryover
  3. Select Jump to Capital Loss Carryover
  4. Enter your information again

For the Desktop Version

  1. Income
  2. Scroll to Investment income
  3. Select Capital loss Carryover
  4. Make your corrections
