• Down the left side of the screen, click on Tax Tools.
• Click on Tools.
• Under Other helpful links, click on View Tax Summary.
• Down the left side of the screen, click on State Tax Summary to see the actual tax return that you prepared.
• Down the left side of the screen, click on Preview My 1040 to see the actual tax return that you prepared.
• Down the left side of the screen, click Back to return.

You need this form to complete Form 8962, premium tax credit, and reconcile advance payments of the premium tax credit or if you are eligible to claim the premium tax credit on your tax return

How enter my 1095-A form - TurboTax

I filed on 1/31. It was accepted by irs now they are saying they need 8962 form. I went back into my account and entered the information and in order to do this I had to upgrade to the deluxe! The irs still wants me to fax forms over but I cannot Access them I’ve tried 1 million times I go under the federal taxes go down to deductions will not let me print anything

After realizing the 1095a want done and receiving a letter from irs I went in thinking I needed to amend. Now I realize I don’t need to amend and just send in what’s requested. ....I did go through the amendment process but did not mail it. So does this mean I have technically not amended the 1040 since it wasn’t mailed to the irs?

Yes, if you didn't mail the amended return that means you technically didn't amend your return. 

Print form 8962, attach a copy of your 1095-A  and mail it to the address on the letter that you have received.

TurboTax will automatically generate form 8962 when you enter your 1095-A Health Insurance Marketplace. 

To report your 1095-A form:

1. Log in to your account.
2. Go to Federal Taxes.
3. Go to Deductions and Credits.
4. Scroll down to Medical and click show more. 
5. Scroll down to Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A).

Turbo tax will automatically generate form 8962 when you enter your 1095-A form. 

If you already filed your return you can't make any changes.

Wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return.  If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.

If your return is accepted, amend your return to add form 8962. 

Here's how you amend your return:

1. Sign in to your account.
2. Scroll down to Your tax return & documents , select 2019 and then Amend (change) return. 
3. Select Amend using TurboTax Online.
4. Follow the instructions, your refund or tax due will change to 0. This is normal on amended returns.
