Can i make installments to pay what i will owe

Hi Susy! If you owe money to the IRS, there are two ways to start an installment agreement with them. The first is to fill out Form 9465 and send it to them. The second, and this is what I would recommend, is to apply on the IRS website.  If this does not answer your question please let me know.

Hi Susylovesjesus! Are you are asking if the IRS allows taxpayers to set up payments for what they owe? If that is your question, the answer is yes! The IRS allows taxpayers to set up a payment plan where they can pay what they owe over an extended period of time. The IRS website has a page for Payment Plans frequently asked questions and the page also has links to set up a payment arrangement. IRS Additional Information on Payment Plans

Additionally, you may want to check out the IRS Tax Withholding Estimator tool to ensure you have the right amount of withholding taken from your paycheck. Its a great tool that allows you to enter paycheck income, pension, and other income including social security, scholarships, unemployment or investment income then the tool determines the appropriate withholding amount to avoid an unexpected tax bill.  IRS Withholding Estimator FAQs  IRS Withholding Estimator Tool
