No. You do not enter income received in 2025 on a 2024 tax return. Next year you will receive a SSA1099 from Social Security showing the amount of SS you received in 2025---including the "Fairness Act" WEP payment made in 2025.
Thanks. I had read that, since the payment was showing income that I “earned” in 2024, I could deduct it in that year. It was confusing.
@JaniceKnight You are welcome----confusing----yes. But count yourself among the lucky people who have already received the retroactive SS thanks to the Fairness act. The amount will be on your SSA1099 next year for entry on your 2025 tax return.
