I understand the IRS and California FTB have extended the tax filing and payment deadline this year until October 16 for most counties in the state, due to the winter storms and flooding.
Is this automatic for everyone living in those areas? Or is it more restrictive such as, you have to be able to provide details if the IRS or FTB asks on how the weather impacted you personally, e.g., flooding on your property or something?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
It applies to all residents who live in the counties affected.
Thank you @DoninGA
