CA_MCTR_Payment - rejection

Hey everyone quick question here. I live in California and recently filed our taxes. It keeps giving me the error code and rejecting it due to the CA_MCTR_Payment - There is a potential issue related to Form 1099-Miscellaneous.

it said there was suppose to be an update today to fix it and I keep logging in and trying to fix it and once I think it’s fixed it rejects it again.

has anyone successfully filed this and not gotten a rejection? What are we suppose to be doing with this?!

Have you tried deleting the 1099-MISC and and resubmitting using these steps?

Report the California Middle Class Tax Refund as follows:

    • Select Federal from the left side menu.
    • Click on Wages & Income.
    • Scroll down to Other Common Income.  Click Show more.
    • Click Start / Revisit to the right of 1099-Misc.
    • At the screen Does one of these uncommon situations apply? select This was a California Middle Class Tax Refund.

The California Middle Class Tax Refund will not be taxable on your California or Federal returns.

View the entries at Tax Tools / Print Center / Print, save or preview this year's return / Include government and TurboTax worksheets.

I did and they were accepted this morning. Just make sure you delete the 1099 information and then input it back in under other forms of income 1099-misc … as per the last post -

Have you tried deleting the 1099-MISC and and resubmitting using these steps? Input amount you received and label it as “CA MCTR”

    (include the quotations)

I filed taxes for two friends this weekend.  One was married filing joint, and one was single.  Both received the CA MCTR.  The single filer was accepted, the joint return was rejected.  I went through the suggested steps from previous posts and while it looks on the surface like everything was working, I was still being taxed on the CA MCTR amount.   I checked this by editing the 1099 and putting $0 in the box 3 amount, which reduced the tax owed, or increased the refund amounts for both Fed and State.   Putting the correct amount into box 3 reduced the refund amounts on both Fed and State.  The CA MCTR is supposed to be non-taxed but TT is including it as taxable income.  Still waiting for a new release to become available that will hopefully fix this.

Mine were accepted last night, so I think the update did happen, but you can’t really tell until you delete and re-enter the 1099 MISC. There’s no message or anything that says it’s been updated, it just finally works.

My federal finally got accepted and I got taxed on only federal click  none of the above on Mics 1099 .  After filling it out on Then when you get to other tax situations on state look for Middle class tax relief  click review then. it will ask you the amount you received  put in amount and you will get state tax added back

I'm trying to file my 1044 basic tax form and of course it's being rejected due to the CA-MCTR. It's Sunday 1/20/2023 and I have tried everything I can think of with no change. Where's is the phantom fix. I could have been finished on the 1/23 if I had done it by hand, instead Intuit took my money but failed to deliver results.

    I not a satisfied customer.

I tried 3 times to file Fed and stsate. They were rejected 3 times. WEnt to FTB.CA.Gov and found out that the MCTR is not taxable by state BUT is taxable by Fed. Making changes and trying a fourth time.

@vaggins  the mctr is not taxable by fed or state. Go back and delete the 1099 form and then log out and when u log back in add it again. make sure u put CA MCTR under description and check the box that says if its for the middle class tax refund.

Try deleting the entry from the federal return and then re-enter it.   If you are using the desktop software, make sure your software is updated.   @rickycindy13x

    its working now! thanks!!!

Same here! Also I called IRS and there is no determination as to the federal taxability on the CA MCTR.  Turbo Tax says it's not taxable, but the program puts it on the return.  It is still rejecting.
