Are we considered as dependents?

My husband and I filed a joint tax return this year and we checked the box for "someone else can claim as dependent". At the end that person couldn't claim none of us as dependent but I wonder if that will affect us in order to receive the stimulus check.

Yes, you need to amend your return to show that you are not claimed as dependents on someone else's tax return.

Once you have made the change, you will need to print, sign, date and mail your amended returns according to the instructions that print out with the returns.

Amended returns cannot be efiled.
