Same problem (no fix yet) but it's obviously a software error. The explanation is nonsense: the total on line 22 must equal the sum of Lines 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 21 and 22. Line 22 is the total and cannot be in the list of numbers summed. Come on TurboTax, fix this!
@GLD777 Can we have a diagnostic copy of your return? If so, here are the steps to send us a copy of the diagnostic return:
1. Sign in to your tax return in TurboTax Online.
2. Go back into your return.
3. Find My Tax Tools in the left menu Select Tools.
4. In the Tools Center, select the Share my file with Agent link toward the bottom of the list.
5. You’ll see a message about creating a diagnostic copy of your tax file. Select OK
6. After you click ok you’ll see that A protected copy of your return has been sent along with your 6 digit token number.
Once you receive the token number, please post it here.
The requested procedure in your request does not work. It assumes that I used TurboTax Online to prepare my return, but in fact I purchased the TurboTax Premier program on disc and prepared the return on my PC. My return is not available on TurboTax Online.
In addition, there was a major software update to the California returns this weekend, and one of the changes at least recognized my problem. The software now says that I cannot file the CA return online because of the disallowed IRA return, so I must print it out and mail it.
However, the software problem is not fixed and the California Form CA is still wrong. Column B Rows 10-21 are still all blank, but Column B Row 22 (the sum of rows 10-21) shows $7300. This is the reason the form was rejected in the first place. If the $7300 entry in Row 22 is correct, then that $7300 must appear somewhere in Rows 10-21.
