Amended return?

I electronically filed my federal return and Oregon return 2 weeks ago. Now, after I updated Turbotax 2020, I have a larger federal return, and instead of owing tax in Oregon, I am entitled to a refund.  I think this is because tax rules change that consider the first $10,200 of unemployment compensation. Do I need to electronically file an amended return/

Amended return?

@Chuck55 After reviewing the following  link , there is no need for taxpayers to file an amended return unless the calculations make the taxpayer newly eligible for additional federal credits and deductions not already included on the original tax return.

Also according to this link  from oregon.gov, Oregon will also correct the return without you having to amend.

Wrong Dave.  I researched it and the IRS and the State of Oregon say that no amended return will need to be filed.  If your eFiled return was impacted by the $10,200 unemployment compensation rule change that recently came out, the IRS, and in my case, the State Oregon, will send the additional refund in May. Google it.

Yes. I did what you suggested and after reviewing the following  link , there is no need for taxpayers to file an amended return unless the calculations make the taxpayer newly eligible for additional federal credits and deductions not already included on the original tax return.

Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention.
