Yes. I did what you suggested and after reviewing the following link , there is no need for taxpayers to file an amended return unless the calculations make the taxpayer newly eligible for additional federal credits and deductions not already included on the original tax return.
Also according to this link from oregon.gov, Oregon will also correct the return without you having to amend.
