I filed my 2020 tax return and I owed money this year, they did not ask me for my direct deposit information I guess because I said I would send a check to pay them.
Does this effect my direct deposit information with the IRS? I filed and submitted my direct deposit information on my 2019 taxes and got the last two stimulus checks, do I need to do anything to update this with the IRS if that information has not changed because I want to know if I am all set up to receive the next stimulus if one is passed?
I feel that is something that should have been included in your software for this year so people would understand, or if it is I might have just missed it.
Also I pulled up my tax information on PDF and all my direct deposit information is just filled in with "X" in every line.

We do not have specific information on the income qualifications or procedures for a third stimulus payment because the measure has not been passed yet.

Okay then I was just checking on that and hope that hold true for the next one after placing my 2020 taxes.
Well I got the first two stimulus checks quickly and low and behold I am sitting here now with no stimulus almost a week after it came out.
I knew this was going to be a [removed] problem, I should have just waited to do my [removed] 2020 taxes.

This is true for all taxpayers including those using private tax professionals and other software companies. As our customers continue to have questions regarding the Economic Impact Payments (EIP), we’re continuing to work with the IRS for guidance. We’re updating our customer and expert-facing articles with information as soon as we get it.
