1099 filed by TurboTax a day late (Feb 1 instead of Jan 31)

I submitted my 1099-NEC forms electronically through TurboTax ("Quick Employer Forms") early afternoon on Jan 31. I did not receive a confirmation until the following morning and the email states that the submit/file date (not accept date) to the IRS was 2/1.

Do I need to be concerned that the 1099's were filed late past the Jan 31 deadline?

There should be no reason for concern.  Your file date will be present in the electronic portion of the documents received by the IRS.

No, you don't have to be concerned that the 1099's were accepted on 2/1/22, which is past the 1/31/22 deadline.

  • When you file electronically, the date and time in your time zone when your return is transmitted, controls whether your return is filed timely.
  • You e-filed on 1/31/22 and your return was pending so it was not late.
  • For additional information, see IRS Topic No. 301, When, How, and Where to File.

@HelenC12 thank you for your response, but let me clarify. Your response said "accepted on 2/1". The email confirmation on 2/1 says they were submitted to the IRS on 2/1. They have not yet been accepted.

To recap, I submitted the forms on the TurboTax Quick Employer Forms site on 1/31. Intuit did not submit/file the forms with the IRS until 2/1.
