1099-B

I am struggling with manually entering the information from my 1099-B in TT for the sale of a mere 1.04 share.....

I have received the form from Computershare but for some reason I am unable to download it directly from them into TT.

More specifically, one line in the form has lots of missing information which consequently I cannot enter in TT.

Leaving them blank produces errors upon performing Smart Check.

Namely, it has an X under applicable check box in Form 8949. has no date acquired (1b), has no cost or other basis (1e), has no wash sales disallowed (1g), no type of gain or loss (2) but has the box on uncovered security (5) checked. All the other information is available.

Conversely, the information for the other 2 other items for this sale (box D and A on form 8949) is reported.

You need the sale proceeds, cost, date acquired and date sold to report an investment sale in TurboTax. I believe you are missing the cost and date acquired. For the cost, you can enter $0 or use an estimate if it is fairly accurate. For the date acquired, you need to choose a date more that a year before the sale date for a long term investment or a date less than one year from the sale date for a short term investment.
