I received a corrected 1099-DIV form from a broker after having already efiled my 2022 1041. The change resulted in $1,000 of additional income.
I see you are able to file an amended return in Turbo Tax but wondered if I have to input the entire return again.
When I enter the information detailed on the corrected 1099-DIV form only, the resulting totals do not include detail that has not changed. Could someone confirm that there is no 1041-X form available and whether I need to input all of the detail for the entire return so that the return shows the correct adjusted total income?
Thank you

You should not have to enter everything again. Log in to your TurboTax account and click on 'amend a previously filed return' and then click on your 1041 that you already filed. It should open up with all of the information already there. Then you can enter your new 1099 and type in the reason for the amendment and file the return.
Simply follow the instructions after indicating you want to file an amended return. Your original information should be preserved and you should only change what you need to change.
Thank you for your help RobertB4444. It was actually as easy as you mentioned.
Thank you for your input. I was able to successfully create an amended return. Looks like the Corrected 1099-DIV form that was sent to me, merely changed the nature of the dividends but did not impact the bottom line. I am going to check with a friend who does these all the time, but I don't think an amended is even necessary.
Perfect. Thank you so much.
