Question about reporting interest on a redeemed EE Savings Bond

My wife had a savings bond which she purchased in 1978. The POD was her mom (who passed away in 2013).  My wife did not have the physical bond so we went through the process of contacting the folks who handle Treasury Direct.  Long story short we submitted all the necessary documents and paperwork to redeem this bond.  Late last year we had a deposit from "TREAS" into our account for something like $150 or so.  We never got any type of email or snail mail confirmation that the bond was redeemed.  My question is will we ever get a 1099?  I would like to complete my taxes as soon as possible so getting this information may take some time.  For what it's worth, I cashed a few bonds last year and my 1099 is already in my Treasury Direct account.

Can I just report the difference between what was deposited into my account and the bonds face value?

Question about reporting interest on a redeemed EE Savings Bond

The deadline to provide Form 1099-INT is January 31, 2026, so you could wait a week or so to see if your copy arrives. But if that is the only item you need to file your return, and you have enough information to report the payment you received, you may add the payment under Other Income.
