You can try logging completely out of the TurboTax website, then clear your browser's cache and delete cookies. A full or corrupted cache can keep TurboTax from functioning properly. If that doesn't work, you may want to try a different browser.

sometimes a WIN 10 update can mess with things ... log out and run an OS update then reboot the computer at least twice and see if that helps.

Fortunately that evening I was able to find a phone number for customer service and ordered the additional state program in a matter of minutes. Sometimes 'old school' still works better than 'new tech'.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I gave up on TT and went to the Illinois website and printed out the forms and instructions and filled them out the old way, with an ink pen. Fortunately, Illinois has a delightfully easy tax form compared to some states.

I had the same problem trying to purchase two states. I tried calling customer support, after being on hold for thirty minutes, they gave up and disconnected me.

By the way, this state purchase problem has happened every year, and I always have to call, and usually they can solve it.

I have tried to purchase state software. I purchased Fed got Michigan for free now want CA. But when I try to order I have to get on line with my account. But then I had to change my password. After successfully changing, I still could not get on line to purchase. I need some help ...this should be really simple. I have been using TURBO tax for at least 20 years
