Can anybody let me know what process is used when there is an error in Turbo Tax?
I reported a problem and support told me they would start an "investigation". A turbo tax CPA confirmed there is an issue.
How do I find out how this is progressing? I have received no communications at all. No incident/ ticket number or anything like that. Will TT contact me when this is fixed? Obviously we are close to the end of tax season and would like to know what I should do.

What is the issue you reported?
Sometimes a programmer may contact you for more information, but that is extremely rare. An investigation means someone will look at the error. Most likely it will not be corrected until the next tax year, but often it is decided that it is not important enough to devote resources to it.

I hadn't referenced the problem as I wanted to understand your process. It appears you may not have one or simply do not care about generating accurate returns or your Customers.
The issue is TT is using a different depreciation period for the IRS and the state (CA), even though your own CPA says this is incorrect, as the State conforms with Federal.

But the purpose of this discussion was to understand the process. Obviously my expectations were higher than TT is delivering.
Should I be filing an extension? Should I forget efiling and use a paper return with manual corrections?
bad answer and not true. Investigations are always either fixed, thus resolved, or proven not a problem.. They are immediately addressed.
