I'm filing my 23 taxes and I logged in, the program showed I owe an amount. In the review it had me enter the amount I was going to pay with the extension, so I did. then I had to pause and log back into the program. It now shows that I have paid the amount owed for 23, but I have not filed the taxes yet or paid the amount due to the IRS yet.... Where do I go to correct that? I've gone through the whole turbotax process and it still shows I paid the taxes.

You entered an extension payment you didn’t make.  (Extensions had to be paid by April 15.)

If you need to delete a payment,  see this Extension FAQ for how to get there.  Then you can change to amount to zero.

To enter, change or delete a payment made with an extension request (Federal, State, Local) -

• Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)

• Click on Deductions and Credits

• Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)

• Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid

• On Other Income Taxes, click on the start or update button

On the next screen select the type of extension payment made and click on the start or update button
