Problem with 1095-A

The directions say do not check this box if the return has not been e-filed, but I am going to e-file so wouldn't I check the box?

Problem with 1095-A

Did you get a 1095A form?  Did you have insurance from the Marketplace or ACA or Obama Care?

Problem with 1095-A

No & No, was on Medicare the entire year.

Problem with 1095-A

So you didn't buy Marketplace Ins.  It should be checked for No.

Problem with 1095-A

This form is/ was confusing. I just unchecked the "Check if no marketplace health insurance purchased. I am E-filing as always.

Problem with 1095-A

Agreed but TurboTax is saying it's a mistake that way and won't let me proceed to e-file.

Problem with 1095-A

That form does not apply to me either. Once I unchecked the already check box, Turbo indicated no errors. I submitted the E-file. It went through ok. Already got my confirmation & acceptance on my Federal. Not e-filing state. Seems to be something new during 2023 involving those who purchase health insurance.  I also printed the 1095A form for my records.

Problem with 1095-A

So is VolvoGirl Level 15 incorrect??????

Should the box be unchecked when I have medicare, have purchased no market place insurance, and when I am going to e-file,???

Please, SOMEBODY FROM TURBOTAX, preferably somebody in the know, straighten this confusion out.

Somebody from Turbo tax who can see the ambiguity here needs to both clarify this and fix the error or the form or both. Perhaps also address the stupid lack of understanding of English language present, past and future tense.

Problem with 1095-A

If you have Medicare exclusively, Form 1095-A should not be a part of your return. If you need the form to be part of your return, you would check no. since it does not apply. If you wander into where the program asks if you have government healthcare, you would have selected no.

Delete the form since you do not need it and efile.

If you are using:

  • Online: see How do I view and delete forms in TTO?
  •  Desktop: If you are working in the cd/download TurboTax program:
    1. On the top right, there is a FORMS button.
    2. Click on FORMS.
    3. Locate the form you want to delete.
    4. Click on the form name.
    5. Below the form, bottom left, select DELETE FORM button.
