If you are using Turbo Tax Online, the most likely reason for buttons that don't work or not being able to enter information is that something in the web browser is not displaying the page properly. The easiest way around this is to simply use a different web browser. You can select from Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari. If you need to install another browser, be sure to go to the trusted home site for the software for security reasons.
If you are using the Turbo Tax Phone App, then try opening Turbo Tax in the browser window on your phone. It will use the same login information but may display the page better.

What if not using Turbo Tax Online? I downloaded the software.
If you are using the TurboTax desktop and it will not let you enter a field in the W-2 section, as in the original post, please delete this W-2 and try again. If you imported it directly from your employer, it might have been damaged in the transfer. Trying again, or typing in manually should solve the problem.

@TeresaM this did not work for me. On TurboTax desktop PC, Turbotax is not accepting input from keyboard when manually entering in a W2. Keyboard is working properly everywhere else in the application. I've tried deleting the W2 and starting again. I'm able to enter in the employer ID, but on the next step where you enter income, etc. I am unable to enter anything. I am using a tablet computer with a keyboard connected via bluetooth.

The same thing was happening to me with my laptop. I was using the touch screen to navigate the fields. I needed to double click with my mouse instead of the touch screen in order for it to allow me to type in the numbers
same thing is happening for me with downloaded version. i can add the EIN, but not any other character or digits. i deleted the W2 and recreated several times. restarted computer twice. after seeing others with same issue i expect this is a turbotax issue. i may try to call but would like to hear if/how others got this fixed.
very annoying.
thanks everyone
Can you make sure your software is updated by using the FAQ link provided below? If that still does not work, I would suggest reaching out to TurboTax customer support for additional assistance:

i called suport...what finally worked for me was to open the app as administrator (right click app on computer, and choose 'Run as Administratr'. it worked for me! yay!
hope this helps others.
I called support and tried running as administer and nothing has worked yet. All support did was give me a new download of TurboTax and it still will not allow me to type.
Can you please provide the version of TurboTax you are using and the operating system your computer runs on?
I'm using TurboTax Deluxe and I've tried it on two different Surfaces. One Surface is running Windows 10 and the other has Windows 11 on it. I had the same issue on each one. I can type in my employer's ID number, but am unable to add any other information from the W-2 onto the form.
Please use the FAQ link provided below to sign up for updates on when this issue may be resolved:
Why am I getting a blank screen or an error on the Wages & Income screen?
Thanks for the information. I've already seen the posts that have suggested running the app as administrator. I've tried doing that and it still doesn't allow me to type in the boxes for my W-2.
