I chose to mail return in before I filled, now I changed mind. Is it too late?

You can change how you file as long as you haven't actually mailed the return:

I have not mailed my return. I want to efile instead but I need to update something. Can I just start over?

Yes, you can make changes, just follow the steps 1-4 in the FAQ above then you can make the changes before you e-file the return.

No it is not, you haven't filed yet.  Please make sure you do not accidentally click on the Amend button.

When I follow steps 1-4 it automatically takes me to the page that asks why I am amending

It shouldn't have done that, but can you click cancel amend? Then it should bring you back to the Tax Home, then scroll down click on "add a State" again and it should open on the left (black area) My Info, Federal, etc.
