You do not need your old email account to log onto the TurboTax online account.  You only need the User ID and Password you used to create the account.

If you do not remember the User ID or password then use the account recovery website.

Close all TurboTax windows on your web browser (including this one).  Copy and paste the account recovery website link onto a new web browser window and run the tool.

Use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of all the user ID's for an email address.  Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery

If none of the user ID's received will access your account, then use the option shown in blue on the account recovery website, "Try something else"

If you cannot log into Turbo Tax at the Sign In screen, go down to I forgot my TurboTax User ID or password.

If you can log into TurboTax successfully, then you can check your account with Turbo Tax by using this link.  It will take you to Account Recovery, where you can update your information.

You cannot cancel your return once it has been filed.  If you have already filed your return, you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return.

    • If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account, make the changes to your tax return, and re-submit your return.
    • If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund.  THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and mail it in.

IMPORTANT:  Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself.  Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed.

Please see the instructions contained in these TurboTax Help articles to amend your return:
