Why did my pa tax not transmit and is still pending

I just finished federal and state tax returns.  Federal went thru and is accepted. The Pa return is still pending.  Why is that and how long will it stay in this mode.

"Pending" means your return is on its way and in the queue waiting for the government to accept or reject.  Due to the January Government shutdown and existing tax code changes, the process has been very slow.  The state is trying to process and approve as quickly as they can but it is not moving as fast as we wish.
