paying multiple non-contracted workers

There are five individuals that we paid, who were not contracted employees.

I understand the maximum I can claim is $600.

Is that $600 per person or total?

Can I do this?

Person A $600

Person B $600

and so on?

You can take a deduction for however much you paid to contractors during the year for your business.

You would need to issue a Form 1099-NEC to each person that you paid $600 or more. That's a completely separate limit.
