I didn’t make estimated payments because I withheld more than 100% of my 2021 tax liability. I think I can probably get a refund but not certain because I have some capital gains and 1099-Int. Can I pay guesstimate 2022 tax due now before filing the tax return? I don’t see the option of paying 2022 estimated payment anymore so not sure if I can select to pay ‘current tax due’. Will I get a refund if it is ends up I don’t owe anything? For example, $1,000 overpayment from w2 withholding + $2,000 current tax due paid in advance, will I get all $3,000 back as refund? Thank you!

You can make a payment directly to the IRS at Pay Online- be sure to indicate that it is for tax year 2023. You will enter it in TurboTax as an estimated tax payment to calculate the proper refund- which will include this payment and any W2 withholding.
Thanks for the response. But I wanted the tax payment towards to my 2022 tax liability (if any), not 2023 tax liability. I was not talking about the quarterly estimated payment. What I wanted to do was to pay my possible 2022 tax liability due in advance prior to filing my 2022 tax return. Thanks
You have a couple of options. As MaryK1101 said, you can go to the IRS website and make a payment. If this is for 2022 tax, you should indicate that it is an "Extension Payment". Making an extension an payment online will also file an extension for you, so if you need it, it will already be filed. Of course, you can file at any time, even if you filed an extension. You can also, print Form 4868, fill it out and mail it with a check. Or, you can file an extension online with TurboTax and make a payment when you e-file the extension. The Extension function in TurboTax is not yet available, so if you want to pay right away you should do so online. Just indicate it's a 2022 Extension payment.
