Pay back some of my health insurance credit discount?

I spoke to an agent and they were the one who figured out my credit for the health insurance. Now because of their error I have to pay money back?

Can you please clarify, are you asking about market place health insurance and Advance payments which you need to pay back with your tax return?

I'm just a bit miffed that I owe over $600.00 from when I signed up to the health insurance market place.

When I spoke with an agent and gave her my income ( Jan. thru June) amount plus the amount I received from unemployment.

I feel that agent made a mistake and now I have to pay.

Unfortunately , when it comes to market place health insurance, there is not much we can do. However, before to file your return, make sure $10,200 is excluded form your unemployment amount. It can change the entire return calculation and you might not owe anything.

May I ask, is the $10,200  taken off the total payments received?

We receive a UC-1099G  from unemployment.

The premium support is based on an estimate of your earnings.  It is just an estimate because your earnings will vary.  The 1040 reconciles the estimate with your actual earnings so you will either get money back or owe at the end of the year.
