Can I deduct my additional tax payment made after the monies that were deducted from my paycheck?

Federal tax you paid last year is not deductible on your 2023 tax return.

There is a handful of states on which you can enter federal tax you paid when you filed your 2022 tax return.

Alabama, Iowa. Missouri, Montana, and Oregon. If you are filing in one of these states watch for the deduction when you prepare your state return.
