I filed my w-2 and was prompted to pay the 59.99 for the deluxe edition since I'd need to fill out another form. I opted to pay by check with an installment plan though and didn't need to fill out a 1040 or anything. Don't understand why I had to pay for premium? My grandmothers accountant offered to do mine for way cheaper. 😕

So sorry! The tax law changes mandated a change in the tax forms. And TurboTax changed what was covered using the Free Edition. So many people who may have filed for free in the past were required to upgrade to a paid edition for 2018. Please see the TurboTax FAQ below for more explanation.

You sound so confused that it is a good idea for you to have Grandma's accountant do your tax return. You cannot file a tax return without completing a Form 1040. That IS the form that a tax return is filed on. You posted from online Deluxe, so not sure what you are saying about "premium" -- there is a higher version of the software that is called Premier.

Lol don’t reply if all you’re going to do is approach with a condescending attitude. Kat seemed to be more knowledgeable. Maybe you’re confused. 😕
