Hello, sorry to bother, our question is very similar to this one

essentially, my father passed away in 2021 and we filed with him as the primary spouse. PA then came to us looking for my moms PA 40. The above seems to be our best guess why, that we should have filed with my mom as primary.
I am unsure how to proceed though at this point. We paid, does she need to file a PA 40 with 0s since income is already claimed? Is it considered amended? So we file the same PA 40 with the names switched? in which case do we need some form to transfer the payments we already made so we dont pay twice? I am sorry weve been struggling with mypath and pa, and honestly chrome keeps freezing trying to post here and i am just trying to not make more errors trying to help her

we once, when my father was still alive, contacted turbotax via the program, the hesitancy i guess was it seemed to not have options for state specific in my memory, but it might well be worth a try.
so far ive updated 2021 and its asking me to activate again, which we definitely already did, so whenever i find the cd again hopefully i can try.
thank you for replying. I guess my concern is the one time i did it in the past, with my father alive several years ago, there seemed no way to do anything state specific. Probably still need to try, but am unsure how to get pennsylvania specific answers and so far my attempts have been striking out. i guess the best way might be to open 2021 and try the chat that way if it still works

just updating thread.
gotten through a few times. first time was told someone who could help wasnt responding, asked for an email instead of a phonecall, yet to receive.
second time got someone who said call back with the same number and choose a different number, directing towards audit section. but i guess phone number was still linked to the open case, when i called back didnt get options, just seemingly requeued with the same support number
