I had a Roth IRA over contribution in 2022, and i just discovered that a few weeks ago. And after researching, what i did was:
1. I rolled back the 2022 entire Roth contribution
2. I also rolled back the entire 2023 Roth and traditional contribution but realized i did not need to, so re-contributed to 2023 traditional IRA.
And it does seem like I need to pay penalty on the 2022 over contribution this tax season.
Want to confirm: whether the steps i took are correct? and also on the penalty part? thanks!!
