I was paid a small amount of money $200 in cash (total), for helping a relative with some simple home repairs while I was unemployed. I don't know how to report this on the schedule 1 form. Where / how do I enter it? I did not receive any 1099-misc or 1099-NEC forms because it's just helping out a home owner who paid me cash. My main source of income was of course on a W2. This other income (home repair ) is not what i do for a living, its denfinately a hobby for me and not my profesion or a small business. Can someone please guide me on how and wher to enter this income on turbo tax delux.

You should confirm through the IRS website, but as I understand, receiving less than $600 in a year from one employer will not generate a need to provide you with a 1099. You could consider that payment you received, in exchange for a service provided and move on. If you continue to generate more side jobs like that, you would need to look into self-employment filing.

Thank you James G1, that’s what I did in Turbo tax Deluxe, took me forever to find the other income location, and your reply confirmed that I handled it correctly. Thanks again
