It's unlikely that folks will see a comment in a two-year old thread.    You should start your own new thread on your issue, so that it will show up as needing help.

Or contact TurboTax Support by phone for assistance.   The contact link to schedule a call back is posted a couple of times above.

If you want to start a current thread, then when you go to the form at the link below, the first box is for a summary of your question, like a title, and is limited to 170 characters..  If you need more room, lower on the form you will come to another box with plenty of room to enter details.    This is a public Internet forum, so don't post any personal info.

I'll close this old thread.

I found a workaround.
1. Before clicking on "prepare to send button", go back to your profile and change the mailing address to a US address.
2. Then go back to "file" page and click on "prepare to send"button.
3. Follow the steps until you reach on the page where it says you are ready to file.
4. Now go back to your profile and change the mailing address back to foreign address.
5. Return back to filing page, you should be able to finally e-file.

I must have to admit that turbotax has really frustrated me this year with NO way of speaking or chatting or emailing your problem. It was the 3rd time I was using TT and it's very unlikely I would recommend it to anyone.

I agree every year it is a big problem to enfile and we find out after the card is charged. I'm really annoyed.

Be careful with changing to the US address because now it is asking me for a consent to file my state return and I can't go back to where I was without doing everything over

For sure this is the way to get around the "missing state and zip" glitch. The problem comes from when using a US based institution card's address for payment and before the MAX consent check.  To get around that, following Karen's advice I:

1) changed my foreign address to the address of the billing address for the card I used,

2)  made it past the MAX glitch state and zipcode check to sign the consent form

3) at the final "check your information" page I went back to the beginning and deleted my US address

4)  Selected "Foreign address" again and filled that out with my true and original address

5) checked the rest of my information and filed my taxes.

6)  bookmarked Karen's helpful solution for next year when I forget TurboTax can't be bothered to fix the glitch.

Thank you so much for the clear step-by-step instructions! I was getting ready to paper file and that just seemed absurd, as I paid to e-file with Turbotax.

Where is the part where I can change my foreign address to my US address associated with my credit card?

This should be done in the Personal Info Tab:

  • Select on the Personal Info tab at the top.

  • Change your address to your US billing address

  • Select the File tab at the top and select Start next to Step 1.

  • Pay for TurboTax Online.

  • Return to Personal Info and reset your mailing address to the correct address.

  • File your return.
