I already filed my federal tax return somewhere else. I am trying to file only an amendment + state taxes on TurboTax Deluxe. Is this possible?
Note: I paid these people money and they're not picking up the phones. This is the last year I use this service.

To file an amended return that was prepared somewhere else, you must first enter everything on the form 1040 exactly as it was entered on the return that was already filed. If you are able to do that, then you can start an amended return. This can be difficult to do.
Why are you not using the same service you used to file your original return?
I have done this, but there is no way to file that as an amended return.
It's a bit complicated, but the service I used before doesn't let me do state returns because I lived in multiple states and they can't handle it. When I entered my federal return here it found much larger savings so I wanted to submit as an amended return.
Unfortunately that is not possible, and despite paying for support they will not pick up the phones. They promised to call me back twice but they have not. So clearly this is a useless service and I will be going with someone else next year.
The workaround may be to tell TurboTax that you are printing and mailing your original return in Sept 1 of the filing section. You should then go ahead and mail your state returns since they have never been filed. You should then be able to start an amended return since TurboTax believes that you have mailed your original return and will now let you amend it. I don't know for sure that this will work but you can try it.
I assume you understand that you are seeking TurboTax help during the last few days before the filing deadline and that thousands of filers who have procrastinated for several months now want assistance. I'm not an employee but just trying to put things in perspective.
I'll try that.
I would understand if this were a free or cheap service, but they sold me on a significant amount of money claiming available personal support and a large return. So yes, I understand they're busy right now, but if you charge a lot of money, you need to figure out how to deliver the product. They can hire more people if they need to. At the very least, they shouldn't promise to call me back (twice!) and just not do that.
