That’s not what I was asking. My 600 dollar stimulus went to my old account on my 2019 tax return. I have a new account now and the 600 dollars went to turbotax who in turn asked me for my new bank details and sent it to me. The question was will the irs send the new stimulus to my account on my 2019 return or the account I told turbotax about so they could send me my 600 stimulus.
The payment will be based on the information from your latest tax return and will go to the bank account or address the IRS has on file for you. For instance, if you have already e-filed your 2020 tax return and your refund was direct deposit, your stimulus would go into the same account that your 2020 tax refund was deposited to or is going to be deposited to, if you have not received your refund yet. Please let us know if this makes sense.
