On 2018 turbo tax as soon as entered personal info it asked to transfer 2017 files. should I do this? Why do I need 2017 transferred

At beginning of 2018 Turbo Tax it wants to transfer 2017 taxes.  Why would I do this??

IT TRANSFERS THE PERSONAL STUFF ONLY LIKE NAMES SS# AND EMPLOYER ID NUMBERS. I FIND THIS A GREAT TIME SAVER

Entering the 2017  data via transfer moves the information needed in the 2018 forms automatically.  It saves time and insures the information is correct and matches last year's data.
