No state estimated tax payments?

Although my tax due may be over $2000 and I have paid estimated tax in past years, including an underpayment penalty,  the system says I don't need to make estimated tax payments for 2017. Can that be right?

No state estimated tax payments?

No, not if you anticipate the income and the basics of the return to be the same.  Go back through the questions to be sure you didn't miss anything or misinterpret a question.

If you are still having difficulty, you can send estimates that will cover your tax liability for 2016, after accounting for any state tax withholding you anticipate, to eliminate any penalties for underpayment.
