New marriage, both have Turbo Tax accounts

I got married in 2016.  My husband and I have both used Turbo tax as single people for years prior to our marriage.  Can we combine our Turbo tax accounts so that we can import information from our prior tax records when completing our 2016 "married, filing jointly" return?

TTax does not allow multiple accounts to be combined into one account (or to split a single account into multiple accounts).

TTax does not permit an account to be closed.  Your only option is to make sure you pick one account and use it all of the time.  You cannot delete any return per se, however you can delete all of the information in a return. .

Your only option is to make sure you pick one account and use it all of the time.  You will have to manually add the information from one account to the account you have chosen to retain.  Generally it is better to pick the more complcated account and manually add the information from the other account.  The IRS does not care whose name appears first.  However, once you select which name is the 'Taxpayer' and which is the 'Spouse' the IRS wants you to keep the same sequence year after year.

Perhaps you have an additional account that you forgot about.

Unfortunately the information from two separate accounts cannot be transferred into one new account. You can continue to use the prior year account for whoever you want to be listed first on the joint tax return.
