Never mind -i answered it myself.

First, you don't want to override it, as this is the way it was reported to IRS.

What you do is go back through the questions, after the 1099R entry.

Where the screen asks, " What iDid you do with the money from Vanguard?"

You answer, "Dave, moved the money to another retirement account........"

Then a window will open and you answer, "Dave rolled over all this money to another retirement account.............'

This will make this a nontaxable event on the tax return.

Take your time and you can do this correctly without any overrides.

To get back to the 1099R section:

To enter pension and annuity Payments (1099-R)

  • Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
  • Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
  • Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
  • On IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R), click the start or update button
