Follow these steps to ensure your SC is correct:
The program will send the correct forms to SC, no need to add the federal form. In addition, the IRS and SC share information for tax administration.
Sorry for the delayed response. I was out of town until yesterday.
I revisit the Tax Underpayment Penalty section
I click to Reduce Tax Penalty
I leave 2024 Tax blank per instructions as I was not a full year resident in 2024 (not even part year)
TT Tells me I owe a penalty
I respond that I will pay amount due by April 15
Takes me back to Other situations list.
I never get to a reason for filing to be able to select annualized income.
Any other suggestions?
I think I found an acceptable work-around.
Since it is asking for last years tax (or 110% of it based on income) to get a safe harbor number, I entered 90% of this years tax, another number with no penalty.
I was then able to choose the reason and complete the form.
I then went back and deleted the tax I had entered.
The software kept my new reduced penalty.
Hopefully this may help somebody else.
