Need 2023 Amendment .tax2023 file to be updated in TT online

I need to get my amended 2023 desktop tax file information back to TT online in order for my 2024 taxes to be correct. I amended 2023 online but was rejected due to incorrect IP PIN. At this point TT online wouldn't let me choose an option to continue changes online and took me to the desktop version. I corrected things on desktop and now have a .tax2023 file that is correct.  When trying to upload the correct 2023 amendment file to the online version, I am taken to TOOLS, then TRANSFER LAST YEARS TURBO TAX RETRUN FROM YOUR COMPUTER.  I get this message: " once you register your tax return or pay any turbo tax fees, we can no longer clear and start over."  

So how do I get my amended 2023 information  that is in a .tax2023 file back into TT online so I can continue with correct 2024?? OR would working with desktop 2024 TT version allow me to to import amended 2023 file and work on 2024 taxes?

Yes, if you are using TurboTax Desktop for 2024, you can transfer the .tax2023 amended file you have on your computer into it, and continue working on your 2024 return using the desktop product.

Or do you want to use online for 2024?  Online might be saying if you transfer  2023 from your computer it will clear out your existing 2024 entries and start you over.  Or if it doesn't let you  clear to transfer because you registered and you have not paid for online you could just start a new online account and return and transfer into that.  Then ignore your old online account.

If you want to use the Desktop program and you have paid the Online fees you can ask customer service to switch you and put the 2024 Desktop Download in your account.  Otherwise you need to buy the Desktop program here,
