Hi 

i forgot i changed my last name with the social security office when i filed but they excepted my return they didn’t reject it and now on my irs account it says they have to verify my identity by sending a control number what should i do?

You will need to follow the IRS instructions and provide the IRS with exactly what they are asking you for so that you can get your refund.  They will send you a letter.
