Claimed them where? How? Do you mean on her W-4 to tell the employer how much tax to withhold? Please explain.

Were you filing joint returns for the last 4 years? Then you two were claiming the same number of dependents.

If your ex-wife filed return as Married Filing Separate, I would encourage you to find a local experienced tax professional (CPA or Enrolled Agent) to explain your situation.
