There is no way to know if MFS is better based on the limited info provided. Generally, it's the worst way with the combined taxes being more than for a joint return. Certain credits may be lost and each of you must use the same method either itemized or standard deduction. However, the only way to determine this is to do a MFS for each of you and a joint return. Make your not omitting or doubling up on any items.
With online comparing the results may be difficult - you can't see the full returns until you pay and you can only prepare one return. Preparing another return in the same account erases the previous return. With desktop, requires a full PCv or Mac (see system requirements here https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/product-system-requirements/minimum-syst... ) there is only one fee to buy the product but you can prepare as many returns as you like for free. if you use desktop make sure to e-file the correct return.
